Plastic Granulators

Plastic granulators are large, shredder-like machines found primarily in the plastics industry. They are used to break plastic products down so they can be recycled. It is no secret that plastic trash such as bottles, bags, packaging, and other plastic products represent as much as 40% of the solid waste that goes into our landfills. It is also no secret that plastic is not biodegradable – meaning it does not break down naturally to become part of the earth and may subsist for thousands of years.

To help alleviate this problem, plastic granulators operate much like large shredders. They take in plastic bottles, jugs, and other plastic products and grind them down into flakes. The resulting plastic-flake product created by plastic granulators is later sold to molders and manufacturers of plastic products as recycled raw material, where it can be used to make new plastic items.

Plastic granulators are rated by pounds per hour, which refers to how much they can shred within an hour.
